I chose to make a print of the turtle dove for this show, a species symbolic of love and loyalty from medieval times, now threatened by loss of habitat and hunting. ‘Precious Turtle Dove’ uses two lino plates to create positive and negative images of this bird: gold for its treasured status as a much-loved icon; blind emboss for the possibility that it may disappear if we do not show some love by taking positive action.
