Garden Visitors
My garden visitors are increasingly rare these days. Last year, I saw a thrush, bat and hedgehog only once, although the bees are more common. My printmaking process is drypoint on plastic, printed with Akua intaglio ink, and later coloured by pouncing Intaglio ink onto and around each small image. I wanted both the sharp black of the print, and the jewel-like colour – it’s a way of celebrating these thrilling visitors.
