The Nattering, Chattering, Quietening Bush
There’s a bush in my garden from the depths of which a few House Sparrows shout out every morning, but it feels a thinner, lonelier chatter than it should be; House Sparrows have been on the UK Red List since 2002 because of a huge drop in their numbers.
I wanted my print to evoke something of the vibrancy and exuberance these archetypal “small brown birds” bring to our gardens and neighbourhoods with their chaotic, jabbering, community babble – if we let then. But it felt right to include forget-me-nots too.
